Your adventure begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cairo by your Egyptologist guide, who will accompany you on your journey. You’ll travel in comfort in an air-conditioned vehicle.
The trip to St. Catherine typically takes 6-7 hours, including a stop for a toilet break and refreshments.
Moses’ Wells: On the way, you’ll stop at Moses' Wells, the site where Moses is said to have struck the rock to produce water for the Israelites. If open, your guide will share the fascinating biblical stories connected to the area.
Arrival in St. Catherine: You’ll arrive in the town of St. Catherine, where you’ll check into your hotel and have some leisure time to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.
After a delicious dinner, you can take a break and rest, preparing for your early morning climb of Mount Sinai the following day.

Early Morning (1:00 AM): After a light breakfast, you’ll be picked up at 1:00 AM to start your ascent of Mount Sinai. You’ll be accompanied by a local Bedouin guide, who will help you navigate the mountain paths.
Following in the footsteps of millions of pilgrims, you’ll make your way up the mountain, where you’ll find resting huts along the way. You can purchase a hot drink or rent blankets if the weather is cold. Upon reaching the summit, you’ll be rewarded with a breathtaking sunrise over the surrounding mountains.
After watching the sunrise, you’ll descend the mountain and head back to your hotel for a hearty breakfast to refuel for the next part of the journey.
and then, After breakfast, you’ll meet your guide and visit the Monastery of St. Catherine, one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world. You’ll explore the historical and religious significance of the monastery, which dates back to the 6th century.
Inside the monastery, you’ll see the Burning Bush, a sacred site surrounded by a small chapel, built by Queen Helena, the mother of Emperor Constantine. and it was Built by Emperor Justinian, this church is another highlight of the monastery.
You’ll learn about the monastery’s important library, which houses one of the most significant collections of Christian manuscripts in the world, second only to the Vatican’s. Additionally, you’ll visit the mosque inside the monastery, which was never used due to its improper orientation toward Mecca.
On your way out, you’ll stop at Aaron’s Tomb, the traditional burial site of Moses’ brother. You’ll also see the rock where the Israelites are said to have made the Golden Calf during their time in the desert.
After your visit to the monastery and historical sites, you’ll begin the journey back to Cairo, concluding your memorable overnight adventure to Mount Sinai.
